This year is flying by and I've meaning to get some more information out on the web about White Cliffs. If you're considering it you'll want to read here as well as my "Spotight" on WCCC
First, I'll start with one of my White Cliffs "Hilights". It was an early spring reception, one of the last before the tent goes up. If you weren't aware the tent isn't a permanent structure. During the off season, the tent comes down and is brought back up in early spring. At these receptions both dinner & dancing are indoors. After the first dance the groom takes the bride for a short walk outside where her wedding gift was waiting - a 2007 Porsche Boxter.

Bride's Wedding Gift
From the picture above, you can see where the tent normally is located. Look for the white patch just in front of the Porsche. Although dinner and dance was located indoors, the guests still had use of the outdoor spaces for cocktail hour and ceremony.

My View of the Dance Floor
After dinner at White Cliffs, dancing begins in the Cliff Room. The 15' x 15' dance floor is large enough for even the maximum capacity weddings, but not so big that a smaller group would feel lost.
When laying out your floor plan of this room, the dj typically is set up in the rear right corner of this room. This is ideal as it puts the music right next to the dance floor. In some facilitits the dj is set up a distance away, with tables of guests between the speakers and the dance floor, creating an uncomfortably loud situation when the dancing music starts.

Dancing in the Afternoon
An advantage to the White Cliffs space layout is the seperation between the dancing area and the tent. For guests that prefer quiet conversation to dancing, the outdoor area is ideal. For guests that want to join in on the party, they have the dance floor and the Cliff Room. In between is the bar, a great in between mingling & social area.

Guests Mingling Under the Tent
Although I love the details, planning and logistics of a wedding, to many people the best part of the day is the dancing.

Groomsmen Getting Down!!
At this reception, I had help from a guest. He was close to the bride & groom and an active participant at the wedding. I let him "help" by introducing a song.

More Dancing at WCCC
Although this is a bit self-promotional, I've included a quote from Lori & Mark - married 6/10/07 at White Cliffs Country Club). "One of our favorite moments of the day were the last 90 minutes of non-stop dancing with our friends & family - we had a blast! Our feet were so sore the next day."
I'm working on a part III so check back soon. I'll be detailing ceremonies at the gazebo & music ideas for under the tent.
